Job summary

HTR Care Recruitment is seeking an experienced Support Worker for a full-time role in the UK. You will provide practical support and maintain a safe environment for vulnerable young people in a supported accommodation setting.

The role requires at least 2 years of UK health and social care experience, working on a rota, with a focus on safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries. A strong team player with reliable communication is essential.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in the UK health and social care sector.
• Relevant experience supporting vulnerable people in care, housing, supported living or similar settings.
• The right to work in the UK without employer sponsorship.
• Availability to work full-time on a rota basis.
• No restriction on hours beyond 20 per week.
• Good understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to stay calm, professional and reliable under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Providing a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for young people.
• Supporting young people according to their individual needs, support plans and risk assessments.
• Helping young people build independence, confidence and positive daily routines.
• Assisting with access to appointments, education, community services and activities.
• Promoting emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour and safe decision-making.
• Maintaining accurate daily notes, case records, incident forms and reports.
• Following safeguarding procedures and reporting concerns.
• Working with colleagues, social workers, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
• Supporting shift coverage, including sleep-ins or waking nights when required.
• Assisting with household duties and keeping a clean, safe living environment.
• Following company policies, Health and Safety, COSHH, RIDDOR and safeguarding requirements.
• Attending staff meetings, supervision and training when required.
• Responding to incidents, emergencies and challenging situations.
• Maintaining professional boundaries and acting as a positive role model.
