Job summary

Lancashire County Council's Early Help - Education and Children's Services is hiring an Assistant Youth Support Worker to help deliver youth provision across Lancashire, with evenings and occasional weekends to meet young people’s needs.

The role requires NVQ/RVQ Level 2 or JNC-recognised Youth and Community Work qualification (or willingness to work towards), strong communication, patience, resilience, and commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Must have NVQ/RVQ Level 2 or JNC-recognised Youth and Community Work qualification (or willingness to work towards).
• Ability to engage and build rapport with young people in diverse settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering youth provision and targeted projects across Lancashire.
• Build strong, respectful relationships with young people and provide guidance on issues affecting their lives.
• Support activities that promote personal and social development, inclusion, and wellbeing.
• Help maintain safe environments and uphold safeguarding standards.
• Work flexibly, including evenings and occasional weekends, to meet the needs of young people.
