Job summary

Peabody is seeking a Support Worker for Young People’s Services in Stevenage to empower 16-25 year-olds to live independently. You will deliver person-centred support, assess needs, and help with daily living skills while coordinating with external agencies to secure housing options and educational opportunities.

The role involves safeguarding, teamwork, and a commitment to Peabody’s values, including diversity and inclusion. Sleep-in shifts may apply with enhanced pay.

Qualifications

• Experience with vulnerable people in the community or supported living.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with young people.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred support to young people in supported housing.
• Conduct needs and risk assessments, develop and review support plans.
• Assist with daily living skills (cooking, cleaning, budgeting).
• Liaise with external agencies and attend meetings; ensure accurate records.
