Help make our weekly youth groups places where young people feel welcome, listened to and able to be themselves. We’re looking for a Youth Support Worker to join our Children & Young People’s team at the Young People’s Centre in central Brighton. You’ll support young people aged 11–25 through small, inclusive groups, helping them build confidence and positive relationships.
Impact Initiatives is a Sussex charity that has supported local communities since 1978. Our services support children and young people, adults with disabilities and older people, helping people of all ages reach their potential and live healthy and fulfilling lives. Our specialist teams are supported by a Central Team providing expertise in finance, HR, IT, facilities, health and safety, and business development. This helps our services focus on the people they work with and the quality of the support they provide.
Our youth groups offer welcoming spaces where young people can connect with peers and trusted adults. Young people’s ideas and interests shape the activities, from creative projects and cooking to games, wellbeing activities and nature-based opportunities. Our approach centres on relationships, inclusion and participation.
Experience of supporting young people’s emotional wellbeing, working with neurodivergent young people or delivering creative, outdoor or nature-based activities would be welcome.
Some flexibility around these times may be agreed while maintaining consistent staffing. Additional paid hours may be available for school holiday activities, nature-based sessions and occasional weekend work.
You’ll be part of an established local charity where your work contributes directly to young people’s lives. Within our CYP team, you’ll have the opportunity to build consistent relationships with young people and help shape activities that reflect their interests and needs. We support staff through regular line-management supervision, team meetings, training and professional development relevant to their role. You’ll work with the support and direction of the Youth Work Team Lead, with opportunities to share ideas and reflect on practice with colleagues.
