Job summary

Youth Support Worker role at Impact Initiatives based at the Young People’s Centre in central Brighton. You will support young people aged 11–25 through inclusive groups, helping them build confidence and positive relationships, under the Youth Work Team Lead.

The role requires a Level 2 Youth Work qualification or equivalent, experience with young people, and a commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusion. Flexible hours include afternoons and occasional weekend work.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Youth Work qualification or equivalent and direct work with children/young people.
• Experience planning engaging activities and supporting group dynamics.
• Strong communication, listening skills, and ability to engage diverse young people.
• Understanding safeguarding, professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Ability to work collaboratively and seek support when needed.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships and support confidence, wellbeing and participation.
• Plan, deliver sessions and lead activities.
• Adapt activities to needs and incorporate feedback.
• Maintain session safety, safeguarding and records.
• Support weekend/holiday sessions if needed.
