Job summary

Zoe in Redhill is seeking a Youth Worker for a part-time, permanent role (21 hours per week) within our well-established charity. The post offers flexibility, a competitive salary and benefits, including gym access and childcare discounts.

You will coordinate a resident engagement programme for inactive young people, guiding them toward employment, volunteering, education or training, within a supportive housing service.

Qualifications

  • Minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Housing, Social Work, or Youth Work (or willing to complete within 12 months).
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • High diligence and accuracy, handling confidential information
  • Proven experience supporting individuals toward employment, education, volunteering or training

Responsibilities

  • Promote, coordinate and deliver the resident journey programme to residents of East Surrey Housing Services.
  • Implement a timetabled support programme with workshops and group activities for residents who are economically inactive.
  • Ensure long-term goals are met so inactive residents become active and independent as part of their pathway plan.
  • Set up regular activities to enhance life skills and confidence in areas like physical activity, wellbeing, and healthy living.
  • Develop effective support systems for young people and monitor their development.
  • Submit regular reports to committees to evidence progress.
  • Maintain accurate records, timetables, interventions and outcomes.

Job description

An exciting new PART TIME permanent position (21 hours per week, flex days and hours) is available for a Youth Worker for this well established, independent charity based in Redhill. Excellent salary, future prospects and great benefits inc. free gym and discounted childcare.

The Youth Worker will join the housing team and will be responsible for co-ordinating a resident engagement programme designed for inactive young people, leading them on a bespoke journey towards employment, volunteering education, training. The role will help the team deliver a safe, supportive, and person-centred service for young people and vulnerable adults accessing East Surrey’s housing.

This role requires someone with a minimum of NVQ Level 2 standard qualification or equivalent in Housing, Social Work, or Youth Work (or is willing to complete such a qualification alongside their job role within the next twelve months.).

Key Responsibilities:

Experience and Qualifications
  • Level NVQ 2 Standard qualification or equivalent in housing, Social work or Youth work (or willing to complete this alongside the job)
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • High diligence and accuracy, managing confidential and sensitive information
  • Proven experience in supporting individuals to obtain employment, education, volunteering or training

EMPLOYMENT TERMS
PAY: £18,420.19per annum
  • Working Hours:21 hours per week
  • Ideally Tuesday to Thursday 9am-5pm – FLEXIBLE
  • (Working days and hours are VERY flexible for the right candidate.
