Job summary

Horizon Care and Education in Leicester is seeking a Youth Support Worker to assist young people transitioning to independent living. You will provide emotional and practical support, develop and review plans, and liaise with professionals to access education and employment opportunities.

The role requires safeguarding knowledge, empathy, and resilience, with shifts including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins. Driving licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable young people, ideally care leavers.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and assessment skills.
• Ability to be resilient and empathetic when working with our young people.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and sleep ins.

Responsibilities

As a Youth Support Worker you will be helping young people transition to independent living, duties include:

• Provide emotional and practical support , including out-of-hours on-call.
• Develop and review support plans, ensuring safeguarding and risk management.
• Help young people access education, training, and employment.
• Manage properties and liaise with other professionals.
• Support our young people to develop independent living skills to prepare them to live fully independently .
