Job summary

Wakefield Council is seeking an energetic Youth Services Officer to help shape and grow youth provision across the district. You will lead project work, liaise with partner organisations, and pursue external funding opportunities while coordinating a joined-up, multi-agency approach to youth support.

You will also contribute to frontline work in community hubs, provide operational support to reception teams, and build strong partnerships across statutory, voluntary, and community sectors to

Qualifications

  • Evidence of capability to lead and coordinate multi-agency projects.
  • Experience securing and reporting on external funding bids.
  • Track record of monitoring outputs against grant requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support project management activities to deliver high-quality youth provision.
  • Oversee funding applications and support the development of successful external funding bids.
  • Monitor grant-funded projects, ensuring outcomes and reporting requirements are met.
  • Deliver frontline support within community hubs and youth settings as required.
  • Provide operational support to reception teams and hub staff to ensure the effective running of services.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with statutory, voluntary, and community sector organisations to enhance the local youth offer.
