Job summary

Confidential is recruiting for compassionate, dedicated staff to join a specialist children's residential home in the United Kingdom. You will provide day-to-day care, build trusting relationships and support daily routines in a safe, structured environment.

We look for resilience, empathy and the ability to stay calm under pressure while promoting positive outcomes for children and young people with diverse needs, including ASD/ADHD. Sleep-in and rota shifts are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Be 21 years of age or older.
• Have at least 6 months' experience supporting children or young people within a residential childcare setting.
• Hold a full UK driving licence
• Have a current DBS registered on the Update Service or willing to obtain one
• Be flexible to work long days, weekends and sleep-in shifts as part of a rota.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality day-to-day care and support to children and young people.
• Build positive, professional and trusting relationships.
• Support young people with daily routines, education and individual care needs.
• Plan and participate in engaging activities, hobbies and outings.
• Promote emotional wellbeing, independence and personal development.
• Respond calmly and confidently to challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support techniques.
• Support young people with autism and other additional needs.
• Follow Individual Care Plans, Behaviour Support Plans and Risk Assessments.
• Maintain clear professional boundaries and provide consistent, therapeutic care.
• Complete accurate daily records, incident reports and handovers.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for each young person.
