Job summary

Abbeyfield School is seeking a Youth Mentor to build trusted relationships with students, families, pastoral teams and external agencies. You will support young people to overcome challenges, rediscover confidence and realise potential through one-to-one mentoring and targeted interventions.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and literacy skills with English and Maths qualifications at GCSE Grade 3 (or equivalent) or above.
• Youth support experience helping children or young people.
• Ability to recognise and respond to barriers to learning, engagement and wellbeing.
• Resilient, empathetic and approachable nature enabling trust with students and families.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students, parents, colleagues and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one mentoring to students.
• Deliver small group interventions and personalised support plans.
• Support improved attendance, engagement, wellbeing and personal development.
• Collaborate with pastoral teams and external agencies to identify barriers and provide appropriate support.
