Job summary

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEND and SEMH needs.
• Excellent communication, mentoring, and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to build trust and rapport with diverse learners.
• Experience with SEND or SEMH mentoring, youth work, education, or support roles is desirable.
• Empathy, patience, and resilience in challenging situations.
• A positive, motivating approach that inspires young people to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring to young people with SEND and SEMH needs.
• Support students in developing confidence, resilience, and positive social skills.
• Help individuals overcome barriers to learning and personal development.
• Encourage positive decision-making, goal setting, and self-belief.
• Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that promotes wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and external professionals to implement personalised support plans.
• Deliver targeted interventions and activities focused on emotional regulation and behaviour management.
