Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking compassionate Youth Mentors to join a SEMH provision in Stockport. You will support pupils with anxiety, trauma and related needs, building confidence and resilience while encouraging engagement with education.

You will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to provide personalised 1:1 and small-group mentoring, monitoring progress and wellbeing, in a safe, structured environment that values every learner.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting, and meaningful relationships with pupils.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring and pastoral support.
• Help young people develop strategies for emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Support pupils during lessons, breaktimes, and structured activities.
• Implement individual behaviour support plans and targeted interventions.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing.
• Help create a calm, safe, and inclusive environment where every young person feels valued.
