Job summary

Care in Mind operates residential services for young people in Ramsbottom, Bury, and seeks a Mental Health Waking Night Support Worker on a part-time basis (22 hours per week).

You will work night shifts from 8:30pm to 7:30am, including weekends and some bank holidays, with day-time training sessions occasionally. The role involves supporting young people with mental health needs, recording information, and helping with daily living skills.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work night shifts including weekends and bank holidays
• Must be able to attend training throughout employment on weekdays
• Good written skills and the ability to write basic reports and record information accurately
• Basic IT skills (online care system, writing emails)
• Good verbal communication skills and the ability to listen to others
• Ability to maintain a professional working boundary
• Ability to remain calm in emergencies, supporting others during difficult situations

Responsibilities

• Update online care records and complete medication administration
• Provide effective handovers to the day staff
• Support wellbeing, education, household tasks and general life skills for young people at night
• Incident management and de-escalation of challenging behaviours
• Maintain tidiness of the home and create a homely environment
