Leeds City Council is seeking a Youth Worker to join the Return Interview Service, delivering safeguarding-focused youth work and supporting vulnerable young people across Leeds.

The role requires a Level 3 JNC Youth Work qualification, flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and a commitment to equality, health and safety, and professional development within a supportive team.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum JNC endorsed Level 3 NVQ / VRQ Initial qualification in Youth Work is essential.
• Able to record and evaluate youth work sessions.
• Flexible and rota based working pattern including late evenings, weekends, schools holidays.
• Young person-centred approach and ability to engage with vulnerable children and young people.

Aufgaben

• Work directly with young people to develop relationships to help identify their starting points, needs and aspirations.
• Deliver youth work programmes responsive to needs and aligned with the Youth Work curriculum.
• Plan and review youth work provision and monitor progress.
• Encourage youth participation in designing, delivering and reviewing sessions.
• Encourage young people to take responsibility for their learning and actions.
• Create a safe environment to challenge young people’s thinking, attitudes and behaviour.
• Contribute to Youth Services performance targets.
• Lead and develop staff with line management responsibility.
• Undertake relevant training for service needs and professional development.
• Ensure equality and diversity principles are upheld in all work.
