Job summary

St Helens Borough Council is recruiting a Youth Engagement Officer within the Education Welfare Team. The role involves working with schools, families, and partner agencies to help children and young people access education and overcome barriers to attendance.

You will support engagement in group work, outreach sessions, and one-to-one work, with a focus on safeguarding and at-risk youth. This Enhanced Disclosure post may require staff to work across council locations, with a minimum of two days

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people.
• Ability to run group work and outreach activities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to children and young people across various settings.
• Support young people on a one-to-one basis, in group work and outreach activities.
• Engage with young people at risk of exploitation, supporting information gathering and delivering informal education.
