Job summary

City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council is seeking a proactive youth worker to engage 11- to 19-year-olds (and up to 25 for those with disabilities) across Bradford. You will build relationships, create accessible youth activities, and develop a Youth Offer that reflects young people’s voices and needs.

You will promote equality, participation, and empowerment, coordinating with partners to deliver inclusive youth work across communities, evenings, and weekends as required.

Qualifications

• JNC qualification level 6 or above in Youth Work.
• Experience of working with young people in a variety of settings.
• Uses a range of basic IT packages and understands information handling.
• Ability to adopt a process of continual improvement in service delivery.
• Demonstrates knowledge of equality of opportunity and voluntary participation in youth work.
• Capable of delivering skills to enable young people to work effectively in groups.
• Works well as part of a team to deliver youth work.

Responsibilities

• To initiate and develop relationships with 11-19 years old's and up to 25 year old's for young people with disabilities.
• To work directly with young people to enable them to broaden their horizons and engage in positive activities.
• To design and develop youth work responses underpinned by the Youth Service cornerstones of Equality, Participation, Education and Empowerment.
• To develop and deliver a Youth Offer that is informed by the voice of young people and is able to meet their needs.
