Job summary

YMCA East Surrey Housing Services in Redhill is seeking a Youth Worker to coordinate a resident engagement programme and support service for young people and vulnerable adults. The role focuses on getting inactive residents onto pathways toward employment, volunteering, education or training.

The post requires driving licence with business insurance evidence, working 21 hours per week (9:00–17:00) over three days, and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice within a charity.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ Level 2 standard qualification or equivalent in housing, social work, or youth work.
• Full driving licence with evidence of business use insurance.

Responsibilities

• Promote, coordinate and deliver the resident journey programme (Y-Focus) to residents.
• Help team deliver a safe, supportive, and person-centred service for young people and vulnerable adults.
• Implement a timetabled support programme of workshops and activities for economically inactive residents.
• Ensure long term goals are met so inactive residents become active and independent.
• Develop activities that enhance life skills and confidence in health, wellbeing, and teamwork.
• Maintain records, timetables, interventions and outcomes; submit reports to committees.
