Job summary

Triage is seeking an Employment Mentor to support 18–24 year olds into work by managing a caseload and securing funded six-month placements with local employers.

You will understand individual goals, build confidence, and help candidates access opportunities that lead to sustained employment. The role blends participant support with proactive employer engagement to create chances beyond existing vacancies.

Qualifications

• Experience in a target-driven environment and achieving outcomes.
• Experience of supporting individuals to achieve employment, training, education or personal development goals.
• Experience of managing a caseload and developing personalised action plans.
• Experience of supporting individuals with multiple and complex barriers to employment.
• Ability to build effective relationships with participants, employers and partners.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills adaptable to individuals.
• Strong coaching, mentoring and motivational skills to encourage progression.
• Identify participants' strengths and development needs for realistic goals.
• Good organisational and time management skills to prioritise workloads.

Responsibilities

• Work with participants one-to-one to prepare for work, build confidence and develop employability skills.
• Collaborate with employers, Jobcentre teams and partners to create opportunities and provide right support.
• Tailor approaches to meet diverse needs and overcome barriers to reach potential.
• Support career progression by guiding individuals through interviews, placements and transitions.
• Maintain accurate participant records and manage information systems.
