Job Title: Youth Worker

About the Role

We are looking for a committed Christian with a passion to develop youth ministry provision in The Salvation Army Liverpool Stonycroft. You will build on the work of our previous youth worker who has established a strong foundation and engagement with young people and schools.

Your responsibilities include:

• Equipping, enabling, and empowering young people and addressing issues affecting them in the community.
• Inspiring young people to become followers of Jesus.
• Creating opportunities for unchurched young people to engage with faith.
• Engaging with young people face-to-face and through virtual platforms.
• Running activities from our church building in Old Swan and visiting local schools.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• A national youth qualification or be working towards it, and/or experience in youth work related to discipleship and leadership.
• Experience in mentoring and supporting young people.
• A strong work ethic, initiative, creativity, drive, and attention to detail.
• Skills in youth and community engagement.
• Confidence in facilitating small groups of young people.
• Ability to communicate with young people using relevant digital media.
• Adaptability, flexibility, and critical and creative thinking skills.

This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
