Job summary

Pertemps Tm in Bideford is seeking a Youth Development Worker to support young people aged 16-25 in a supported accommodation setting. You will deliver one-to-one key worker support, craft individual action plans, and help residents build confidence and practical skills for independent living.

The role is temporary, 37 hours per week, paying £15.34 per hour, with a pattern of Monday–Friday across 8am–9pm, starting ASAP and requiring an Enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people, homelessness, supported housing or vulnerable individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-to-1 key worker support to young people aged 16-25
• Develop and review individual support and action plans
• Complete and update risk assessments and risk management plans
• Support young people with tenancy and housing management
• Assist with Universal Credit, PIP, Housing Benefit and other benefit applications
• Help with budgeting, bills and managing finances
• Support access to education, training and employment
• Work closely with external agencies including mental health services, domestic abuse services and housing providers
• Help young people develop essential independent living skills
• Support successful move-on into longer-term accommodation
• Provide creative, person-centred support tailored to individual needs
