Job summary

City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking a creative and highly organised Careers Advisor to support young people across Wolverhampton. The role focuses on guidance to help progression into education, employment or training and involves working in a range of community settings.

A Level 6 qualification in Careers Education, Information and Guidance is required. The post is full time and permanent, with a standard 37-hour week.

Qualifications

• Creative, flexible and highly organised careers guidance professional.
• Experience working with vulnerable cohorts including SEND.
• Experience delivering guidance in schools, Local Authority settings or community environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of young people across various settings in the city.
• Provide careers information, advice and guidance to enable progression to education, employment or training.
• Develop and evaluate career action plans or Career Pathway Plans to track progress.
• Contribute to reviews for Education, Health and Care Plans for SEND young people.
• Advocate for young people with additional needs to help address barriers to progression.
