Job summary

The Sky Academy in Taunton is seeking an Engagement and Welfare Support Officer to build trusting relationships with young people and families, reduce barriers to attendance, and promote engagement and wellbeing.

You will work with pastoral, safeguarding and education colleagues to develop individualised approaches, support inclusion, and help learners feel safe, understood and able to participate in education.

Qualifications

• Understanding barriers to attendance, engagement and wellbeing.
• Trauma-informed, relational and inclusive practice.
• Proven experience working with young people and families in education or related areas.
• Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support attendance, engagement and wellbeing of young people.
• Build safe, trusting relationships with families and colleagues.
• Collaborate with pastoral, safeguarding and education teams to develop individualized support.
• Work with external professionals to improve accessibility and inclusion in education.
