Job summary

Fowey River Academy, part of Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, is seeking a caring Student Welfare Officer to join our pastoral team. The role focuses on promoting wellbeing, removing barriers to learning and supporting vulnerable students within the Learning Support Hub.

You will work with students, families, tutors, SEND staff and external agencies to plan interventions, monitor progress and support transitions, creating a calm and positive learning environment where every student is ready to

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people in pastoral or welfare settings.
• Ability to monitor attendance and identify barriers to learning.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with students, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Promote students’ personal, social and emotional development and remove barriers to learning.
• Identify vulnerable students and provide targeted welfare support and intervention.
• Monitor attendance, wellbeing, behaviour and engagement, using data to plan interventions.
• Support transitions and foster positive relationships with parents and external agencies.
• Contribute to the wider pastoral life of the Academy.
