Job summary

Action for Children is seeking a motivated Young Person's Practitioner to deliver the Women’s and Girls Together Project across Pembrokeshire. You will support vulnerable females aged 11–21 through group sessions, 1:1 guidance, and mentoring, helping build resilience and voice.

The role requires safeguarding expertise, experience with risk-taking behaviours, and flexibility including occasional evenings. A driving license is essential due to travel across the county.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting children and young people in one-to-one or group settings.
• Specialist knowledge of safeguarding and child protection processes.
• Understanding of risk-taking behaviours and person-centred approaches.
• Ability to work across multi-disciplinary services while also managing own responsibilities.
• Experience of line management of staff.
• Willingness to work flexibly including evenings.
• Driver's license with access to a car is essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver sessions across Pembrokeshire to young people aged 11–21.
• Support vulnerable females to improve emotional well-being and self-belief.
• Help them recognise negative relationships and risky behaviours and consequences.
• Develop and review tailored plans that empower young people.
• Contribute to service development through teamwork and evaluation.
