Job summary

Turning Point UK is seeking an ambitious Service Manager to lead our supported accommodation for young people across Chorley and Leyland, with a progression route to Ofsted registration within 12 months.

You will lead care and housing elements, recruit and develop teams, ensure safeguarding, manage budgets, and build strong partnerships with authorities, landlords and commissioners to drive quality and move-on outcomes.

Qualifications

  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management or working towards it.
  • At least two years' experience in a role relevant to residential support of children or adults within the last five years.
  • Experience in housing services including tenancy management, landlord relationships, and housing benefit processes.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and a track record of improving quality and compliance.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders including local authorities and commissioners.

  • Lead high-quality, person-centred services for young people, maximising the voice of the young people.
  • Recruit, develop and inspire high-performing teams.
  • Ensure safeguarding and compliance across all services.
  • Drive service quality, compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Build relationships with local authorities, landlords and partner agencies.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Support move-on planning for young people.
  • Lead the Ofsted Registered Manager transition and ensure inspection readiness.

You'll lead both the care and housing elements of the service, ensuring high-quality support, safe accommodation and effective partnership working with landlords, commissioners and local authorities.You will:Lead high-quality, person-centred services for young people, maximising the voice of the young people in the ongoing development of the servicesCreate a positive culture focused on wellbeing, independence, achievement and co productionRecruit, develop and inspire high-performing teamsEnsure excellent safeguarding practice across all servicesDrive service quality, compliance and continuous improvementBuild strong relationships with local authorities, commissioners, landlords, housing benefit officers and partner agenciesManage budgets and resources effectivelySupport positive outcomes and successful move-on planning for young peopleOnce registered, you'll take on the full responsibilities of the Ofsted Registered Manager role, ensuring compliance with Supported Accommodation Regulations and maintaining inspection readiness.About YouYou may already be an Ofsted Registered Manager, or you may be an experienced manager looking to progress into your first registered role.You'll have:• A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management, or be working towards this• At least two years' experience within the last five years in a role relevant to the residential support of children or adults, as required for Ofsted Registered Manager registration• Management experience within supported accommodation, housing, residential care, health and social care, or a similar environment• Experience of working within housing services, including tenancy management, housing-related support, landlord relationships, occupancy management and housing benefit processes• Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience• A track record of improving quality, compliance and service performance• Experience working with multiple stakeholders including local authorities, commissioners, landlords and partner agencies• A passion for supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes• The confidence to lead through change and drive continuous improvementContract and ProgressionThis role is offered as a development opportunity where you will receive structured support and training to achieve:Successful completion of the Ofsted Registered Manager registration process within the agreed 12-month timescale (Failure to meet this requirement may lead to the termination of the employment contract)Satisfactory performance in the roleA salary increase will be applied upon appointment to the Ofsted Registered Manager role.About usAs a leading health and social care provider with more than 300 locations across England, we take real pride in the services we offer.We run all of our services on a not-for-profit basis; instead, we invest every penny back into our services and people.
