Job summary

Turning Point seeks a proactive Young People Service Manager in Chorley/Leyland to lead supported accommodation and progress toward Ofsted Registered Manager status. You’ll drive high-quality, person-centred services for young people, aligning safeguarding with growth and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

  • Lead supported accommodation services across four locations (Chorley and Leyland).

  • Recruit, develop and inspire high-performing teams; ensure safeguarding and continuous service improvement.

Young People Service Manager - Progression to Ofsted Registered Manager

Chorley & Leyland | Full Time | Development Opportunity

Please note: Applicants must hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or equivalent) and if not already registered with Ofsted, must successfully complete the Ofsted Registered Manager interview and registration process during the development period to secure permanent appointment to the role within one year of being in post.

About the Role

You'll have responsibility for supported accommodation services across four locations in Chorley and Leyland, supporting young people to develop confidence, independence and life skills in safe and nurturing environments. You'll lead both the care and housing elements of the service, ensuring high-quality support, safe accommodation and effective partnership working with landlords, commissioners and local authorities.

You'll:

  • Lead high-quality, person-centred services for young people, maximising the voice of the young people in the ongoing development of the services
  • Create a positive culture focused on wellbeing, independence, achievement and co production
  • Recruit, develop and inspire high-performing teams
  • Ensure excellent safeguarding practice across all services
  • Drive service quality, compliance and continuous improvement
  • Build strong relationships with local authorities, commissioners, landlords, housing benefit officers and partner agencies
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively
  • Support positive outcomes and successful move-on planning for young people

Once registered, you'll take on the full responsibilities of the Ofsted Registered Manager role, ensuring compliance with Supported Accommodation Regulations and maintaining inspection readiness.

About You

You may already be an Ofsted Registered Manager, or you may be an experienced manager looking to progress into your first registered role.

You'll have:

  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management
  • Management experience within supported accommodation, housing, residential care, health and social care, or a similar environment
  • Experience of working within housing services, including tenancy management, housing-related support, landlord relationships, occupancy management and housing benefit processes
  • Experience leading and developing teams to deliver high-quality services
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience
  • A track record of improving quality, compliance and service performance
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders including local authorities, commissioners, landlords and partner agencies
  • A passion for supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes
  • The confidence to lead through change and drive continuous improvement
Desirable
  • Experience working with young people
  • Understanding of Supported Accommodation Regulations, Ofsted standards and housing-related legislation
  • Experience preparing for inspections, audits or regulatory reviews
  • Experience of service mobilisation, growth or transformation
