Job summary

Stepping Stone Projects is seeking a Supported Housing Worker to support 16-25-year-olds within the Central Lancashire Dispersed Housing Service, based in Preston. This part-time role covers Preston, Leyland, Chorley and Morecambe, with 18.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable young people or adults facing adversity.
• Ability to build trust and maintain professional boundaries.
• Experience supporting individuals who may have experienced trauma, adversity, or instability.
• Holds, or is willing to work towards, an NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People.
• Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle.

As a Supported Housing Worker at Stepping Stone Projects, you'll make a genuine difference to the lives of young people by supporting them to develop the confidence, skills and independence needed for a successful future. Working with young people who may have experienced homelessness, family breakdown, trauma, or other challenges, you'll provide person‑centred support that helps them overcome barriers, achieve their goals and move towards independent living.

Whether supporting access to education, training and employment, promoting wellbeing, developing life skills, or preparing for a tenancy, you'll play a key role in helping young people build brighter futures within a safe, supportive and encouraging environment.

We're looking for a passionate, motivated, and resilient Supported Housing Worker to join our Central Lancashire Dispersed Housing Service covering Preston, Leyland, Chorley and Morecambe.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to support young people aged 16-25, including care leavers, as they build confidence, develop life skills, and move towards independent living. Every day is different, and you'll play a key role in helping young people overcome challenges, achieve their goals, and create brighter futures.

This role combines housing management responsibilities with person‑centred support work. You'll work directly with young people who may have experienced trauma, family breakdown, homelessness, instability, or other complex challenges, helping them develop the skills, confidence and resilience needed to live independently.

Our OFSTED‑regulated service provides safe and supportive accommodation across Lancashire. Working alongside colleagues and partner agencies, you'll empower young people to maintain their tenancies, access education, training and employment opportunities, and develop the skills needed to live independently.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience supporting vulnerable young people or adults facing adversity, trauma, or complex life circumstances.
• Can build trust and maintain professional boundaries.
• Has experience supporting individuals who may have experienced trauma, adversity, or instability, and can remain calm and effective when responding to periods of heightened distress or conflict.
• Has strong partnership‑working and advocacy skills.
• Demonstrates resilience, perseverance, and a solution‑focused approach.
• Holds, or is willing to work towards, an NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People.
• Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle.
