Job summary

OCVA is seeking a Dementia Adviser to support people with a diagnosis of young onset dementia, their families and unpaid carers. The role focuses on tailored advice, practical and emotional support, and helping families access appropriate services within the community.

You will work as part of the Dementia Adviser team in Oxfordshire, covering South Vale and City locations, with hours between 21 and 35 per week, including Wednesdays.

Responsibilities

• Support people with a diagnosis, their families and unpaid carers
• Be a named contact for families, offering a single point of contact on matters relating to the dementia diagnosis
• Record and monitor all work in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring client confidentiality
• Be an active member of the Dementia Adviser team, providing peer support and sharing best practice
• Support the planning, delivery and development of groups, activities and events for people living with young onset dementia and their families
