Job summary

RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. in Swindon offers a Year in Industry placement within the Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) function, focusing on Technical Safety Engineering. You’ll gain practical insight into offshore wind operations and collaborate with a diverse, global team.

You will support risk management, asset performance and incident reporting, contribute to investigations, and develop skills for a future career in energy engineering.

Qualifications

• Ongoing studies in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• Eligibility to complete a year in industry placement as part of the degree programme.
• Very good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate workloads independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Travel to other sites when required, with travel expenses covered.
• Minimum five years’ residence in the UK due to the potential requirement for National Security Vetting.

Responsibilities

• Gain practical insight into operational sites by working with a wide range of colleagues.
• Develop an understanding of safe and efficient offshore wind farm operations.
• Support the management of risks, asset performance and major technical threats across the offshore fleet.
• Build knowledge of wind farm development, construction and organisation-wide incident reporting processes.
• Contribute to asset and plant safety incident investigations, including root cause analysis.
• Lead a detailed investigation and risk assessment for a technical risk with fleet-wide impact.
• Prepare monthly reports and support the development of new performance indicators and systems.
• Assist with safe systems of work, procedures and audits.

• Ongoing studies in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• Eligibility to complete a year in industry placement as part of the degree programme.
• Very good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate workloads independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Confidence working in a diverse team environment and engaging with a range of stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to other sites when required, with travel expenses covered.

• A minimum of five years’ residence in the UK due to the potential requirement for National Security Vetting.
