Job summary

RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. is offering a Year in Industry placement in Procurement & Operations & Maintenance.

You will gain practical experience across the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, work with stakeholders, prepare tender documents, evaluate bids, and support supplier contracts while developing commercial awareness. The role requires ongoing studies in Supply Chain or related field, eligibility for a year in industry, strong communication and IT skills, and willingness to travel

Qualifications

• Ongoing studies in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Law, Engineering or a similar discipline.
• Eligibility to complete a year in industry placement as part of the degree programme.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with good IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Gain practical experience across the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from identifying suitable suppliers to contract preparation and supplier relationship management.
• Support buying requirements by working closely with stakeholders and Procurement Managers to understand business needs.
• Prepare and evaluate tender documents throughout the procurement process.
• Build RFIs and RFQs using the e-tendering tool.
• Analyse tender submissions and prepare price comparisons to support commercial decisions.
• Assist with supplier contract preparation and contract review meetings.
• Organise internal and external meetings as part of day-to-day procurement activities.
• Develop commercial awareness and negotiation skills, with the opportunity to progress towards negotiating a contract independently.

About the role

Job requirements and experience

• Ongoing studies in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Law, Engineering or a similar discipline.
• Eligibility to complete a year in industry placement as part of the degree programme.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills combined with good IT skills.
• Ability to organise workloads, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Confidence working in a diverse team environment and engaging with a range of stakeholders.
• Availability to work from an operational site three days per week and travel to other sites when required, with agreed travel to other sites covered but travel to and from the base site excluded.

• A minimum of five years’ residence in the UK due to the potential requirement for National Security Vetting.

This position is aimed at those currently studying who are eligible for a Year in Industry Placement. For those who will be graduating Summer 2027 we encourage you to apply for our graduate programme which will be advertised in January 2027.
