Job summary

TimePlan Education is recruiting for a welcoming primary school in New Malden seeking a Year 6 Teaching Assistant for a full-time role. You will support Upper KS2 pupils and assist with interventions for maths and reading, including pupils with Dyslexia, ASD, and ADHD.

The role involves supporting pupils’ learning, monitoring progress, and collaborating with teachers and parents to boost attainment and confidence. DBS check required.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years' experience in a primary school setting.
  • Proven experience supporting Upper Key Stage 2 pupils (Year 5 and Year 6).
  • Experience planning and leading maths and reading interventions.
  • Experience supporting pupils with Dyslexia, ASD, and ADHD.
  • Experience supervising breaktimes and lunchtime duties is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting Year 6 pupils with their learning across the curriculum.
  • Planning and delivering targeted maths and reading interventions to raise attainment and close learning gaps.
  • Providing tailored support for children with additional needs, including Dyslexia, ASD, and ADHD.
  • Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and independence.
  • Supporting the teacher with classroom preparation and learning activities.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Assisting with lunchtime and playground supervision where required.
