Job summary

International Schools Today invites applications for a part-time Year 6 support role. Working Tue and Wed, you will assist the Year 6 teaching team in preparing pupils for 11+ exams and senior school entry assessments, both in class and via targeted interventions.

The successful candidate will have experience with primary-aged children, ideally KS2, and be skilled at small-group and individual support. You will build confidence, reinforce learning, and contribute to both academic and pastoral

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary-aged children.
• Experience within Key Stage 2 is preferred.
• Ability to work with small groups and individual pupils.
• Understanding of 11+ preparation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in classroom and targeted interventions.

Job description

Year 6 is an exciting time in a child’s development, bringing opportunities for increased independence, academic challenge and preparation for senior school. Working closely with the Year 6 teaching team, you will play an important role in helping pupils navigate this transition with confidence and success. The role will involve supporting children both within the classroom and through targeted interventions, helping them develop key skills in English, mathematics and reasoning as they prepare for 11+ examinations, senior school entrance assessments and interviews.

The successful candidate will have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 2, and will be confident supporting learning across the curriculum. You will be able to build positive relationships with pupils and provide encouragement, reassurance and challenge where appropriate. An understanding of the academic demands associated with 11+ preparation would be beneficial, as would the ability to work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning and boost confidence.
