Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated Year 6 Teaching Assistant for an inclusive primary school in Ilkeston. You’ll provide classroom support plus targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions to help pupils reach their potential.

Ideal candidates have Level 2/3 TA qualifications or equivalent, with experience in SEND and an understanding of the KS2 curriculum. This on-site role runs full-time with supportive supervision from TeacherActive.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND in primary KS2 or Upper KS2 contexts.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and adaptive teaching approaches.
• Knowledge of positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and pupils.

Responsibilities

• Support Year 6 pupils in class and through 1:1 and small-group interventions.
• Adapt activities and monitor progress, including Pre-Key Stage standards.
• Support pupils with SEND and behavioural needs using calming techniques and structured routines.
