Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd in Swadlincote, Derbyshire is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school on a full-time, long-term contract from ASAP to July 2027. The role covers KS2 support and 1:1 work, helping pupils stay engaged and learn.

You will collaborate with class teachers, provide patient, adaptable assistance, and contribute to a welcoming, supportive learning environment. A TA qualification is desirable and market-leading pay is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children within a mainstream primary school.
• Experience working with pupils across KS2.
• Confidence providing both general classroom and 1:1 support.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with staff.
• A patient, enthusiastic and adaptable approach to supporting children's learning.
• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide a mixture of general classroom and 1:1 support across KS2.
• Assist with learning activities and keep pupils engaged.
• Work closely with class teachers to support individual learning needs.
