Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced Year 6 Intervention Teacher for a Hemel Hempstead primary school on a temporary, part‑time basis until June. The role focuses on literacy, numeracy and SATs preparation, delivering targeted interventions to Year 6 pupils.

With immediate start, two days per week, 8:30am–3:30pm, you’ll earn £170‑£200 per day depending on experience, and there is potential for a permanent KS2 role for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience teaching in a primary school setting.
• Strong understanding of Year 6 curriculum and SATs requirements.
• Ability to deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions to Year 6 pupils.
• Support pupils with SATs preparation, reinforcing key concepts and developing exam confidence.
• Work with individuals and small groups to address gaps in knowledge and accelerate progress.
• Consolidate core skills in reading, writing, spelling, grammar, punctuation and mathematics.
• Adapt teaching approach to meet pupils' individual learning needs.
• Monitor pupils' understanding during sessions and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Create a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment that encourages progress and builds confidence.
