Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Year 6 Intervention Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Birmingham on a long-term basis. You will teach small groups of pupils and deliver focused interventions designed to close gaps in learning and accelerate progress.

This is a Monday to Friday morning role from 8:30am to 1:00pm, located in Sheldon, Birmingham, working with the Year 6 team to monitor progress and plan next steps.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS and has strong Year 6 experience.
• Excellent knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and Year 6 expectations.
• Confident delivering targeted English and Maths interventions.
• Capable of quickly identifying gaps and planning next steps.
• Maintains high expectations to accelerate pupil progress.

Responsibilities

• Teaching targeted small-group interventions across Year 6.
• Identifying and addressing gaps in pupils' learning.
• Supporting pupils to make accelerated progress.
• Planning and delivering focused lessons based on needs.
• Supporting pupils towards end-of-KS2 expectations.
• Working collaboratively with the Year 6 teaching team.
• Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching accordingly.
