Job summary

Desian Education are recruiting a dedicated Year 6 Teacher for a welcoming primary school in Bootle, starting January 2027. This full-time, long-term role focuses on supporting pupils through their final year of primary education and preparing them for secondary school.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS, have experience in Key Stage 2 (preferably Year 6), and be confident delivering the Upper KS2 curriculum. A Full Enhanced DBS and strong behaviour management are essential.

Qualifications

• QTS and DBS check are required.
• Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6.
• Confident delivering the Upper KS2 curriculum.
• Experience preparing pupils for SATs is desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and classroom organisation skills.
• Reliable, committed and able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for a Year 6 class.
• Plan, deliver and assess lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Prepare pupils for SATs and support them to achieve targets.
• Deliver engaging lessons across the curriculum.
• Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and implement targeted interventions.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues and senior leaders.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school.
