Job summary

Desian Education is recruiting a committed Year 5 Teacher for a Southport primary school, starting January 2027. You will lead a Year 5 class, deliver engaging lessons and monitor progress within Upper Key Stage 2, contributing to a thriving school community.

The ideal candidate holds QTS and a Full Enhanced DBS, with experience in Key Stage 2 and strong behaviour management. This full-time, long-term role offers stability and ongoing professional opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• Full Enhanced DBS is required.
• Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, preferably Year 5.
• Confident delivering the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum.
• Strong behaviour management and classroom organisation.
• Reliable, committed and able to build relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for a Year 5 class.
• Plan, deliver and assess lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and implement interventions where required.
• Prepare pupils for Upper Key Stage 2.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues and senior leaders.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school.
