Job summary

Step Teachers Ltd is seeking a Year 5 Teacher for a full-time, long-term role starting September 2026 in a positive primary environment. The successful candidate will plan and deliver Year 5 lessons, manage a supportive classroom, and monitor pupil progress.

Strong emphasis on safeguarding, collaboration with staff, and engaging teaching practices to support KS2 preparation and pupil development.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Year 5 lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Create a positive, inclusive, well-managed classroom environment.
• Support pupils’ academic progress and preparation for upper Key Stage 2.
• Assess, monitor and track pupil progress, adapting teaching to needs.
• Differentiate learning to support pupils with varying abilities.
• Maintain routines and high expectations for behaviour and learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and consistency.
• Support social, emotional and personal development of pupils.
• Communicate with parents and carers when required.
• Uphold safeguarding, welfare and health and safety responsibilities.
