Job summary

Flourish Education Ltd is seeking an experienced Year 5 Class Teacher for a part-time role in Wednesbury. The position runs Monday to Wednesday from October until July 2027, with a job-share arrangement to ensure weekly consistency.

The successful candidate will plan, teach, mark and assess, supported by two Teaching Assistants including 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD. ECTs welcome with DBS update in place.

Qualifications

• QTS or an ECT working towards induction.
• KS2 experience desirable.
• Understanding of KS2 National Curriculum and Year 5 expectations.
• Experience in planning, marking, assessment and tracking progress.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Confident working with Teaching Assistants and SEN support.
• DBS check on update service or issued within last 12 months.
• Minimum of two excellent references.

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced Key Stage 2 Teacher looking for a part-time role? A welcoming and supportive Primary School in Wednesbury is seeking a dedicated Year 5 Class Teacher to join their team from October. This part-time job share position will be working Monday to Wednesday and will run until July 2027, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT looking for a consistent part-time teaching role. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the Year 5 class on their working days, including planning, teaching, marking and assessment. The class benefits from the support of two Teaching Assistants, one of whom provides dedicated 1:1 support for a child with ASD. The school is open to ECTs and is looking for a confident, enthusiastic teacher who can build positive relationships and deliver engaging lessons.

As a Year 5 Class Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

• Taking full responsibility for the teaching and learning of a Year 5 class on Monday to Wednesday.
• Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Marking work, assessing pupil progress, and adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
• Working collaboratively with the job-share teacher to ensure consistency across the week.

To be successful in this Year 5 Class Teacher role, you will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an ECT working towards completion of your induction.
• Previous experience teaching in Key Stage 2 is desirable.
• A good understanding of the KS2 National Curriculum and Year 5 expectations.
• Experience or understanding of planning, marking, assessment, and tracking pupil progress.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
• Confidence working alongside Teaching Assistants and supporting pupils with SEN.
• A positive, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to teaching and learning.
• A DBS on the update service, or issued within the last 12 months.
• A minimum of two excellent references.
