Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting a Year 5 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a welcoming primary school in Birkenhead. The role is full-time and long-term, running from September 2026 to July 2027, with Monday to Friday hours from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

The successful candidate will provide consistent 1:1 support, helping the pupil access learning and develop independence. Experience with SEND is desirable, though strong transferable childcare experience will be considered.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable.
• Strong transferable childcare experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil.
• Supporting access to the curriculum.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo.
• Supporting the pupil during lessons, break and lunchtime.
• Helping develop confidence and independence.
