Job summary

Desian Education are working with a large two-form entry primary school in Widnes, seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the Year 5 team on a full-time basis. The role focuses on 1:1 SEMH support and contributing to the wider classroom environment.

You will build trusting relationships, support literacy and numeracy, and work closely with the class teacher and pastoral team to maintain a calm, nurturing approach throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
• Ability to provide consistent 1:1 support in Year 5.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 support to Year 5 pupils.
• Deliver targeted interventions and support literacy and numeracy progress.
• Support SEMH and emotional regulation for pupils who have experienced trauma.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and the wider pastoral team.
• Maintain a calm, nurturing approach throughout the school day.
