Job summary

Desian Education is partnering with a specialist SEMH primary school to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position starting after half term.

You will provide classroom and 1:1 support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them access learning and regulate emotions. You will build positive relationships and work with teachers to implement support plans in a safe, nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Provide classroom and 1:1 support to pupils with SEMH needs
• Help pupils regulate emotions and access learning
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement and social development
• Build positive relationships with children who may display challenging behaviours
• Collaborate with teachers to implement support plans

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, nurturing and consistent learning environment
• Encourage positive behaviour and coping strategies
• Work closely with the school team to deliver SEMH support plans
