Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Nelson is seeking an outstanding Year 4 Class Teacher to join our caring, inclusive primary school. You will deliver high-quality teaching, set high expectations, and support every pupil to progress.

The role requires QTS, KS2 experience, strong behaviour management, and collaborative working with staff and parents. Salary £130-£160 per day, full-time, start Oct 2, 2026.

Qualifications

  • Must hold QTS and have experience teaching in Key Stage 2.
  • Able to plan engaging, challenging lessons across Year 4.
  • Competent in assessing pupil progress and informing teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for a Year 4 class, creating a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and challenging lessons that inspire pupils to achieve their full potential.
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress to inform teaching decisions.
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour, learning, and attendance.
  • Support pupils' academic, personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and school events.

Our school is a caring, inclusive, and ambitious primary school seeking to appoint an outstanding Year 4 Class Teacher to join our dedicated team. Year 4 Class Teacher

Salary: £130 - £160 per day

Contract: Full Time

Start Date: Monday 2nd October 2026

The Role

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally in Lower Key Stage 2.
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom practice and a strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
  • Has high expectations and aspirations for all pupils.
  • Possesses strong behaviour management skills and can create a nurturing learning environment.
  • Is reflective, enthusiastic, and committed to ongoing professional development.
  • Works effectively as part of a team and has excellent communication skills.
