Job summary

Veritas Education is assisting a welcoming primary school in Morecambe to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant (TA2) to support a Year 4 pupil with SEN. The role includes 1:1 support and general classroom help within Year 4, with close collaboration with staff to ensure academic and social progress.

The ideal candidate will have SEN and Autism experience, strong behaviour management, and a patient, nurturing approach, working well in a team while using initiative.

Qualifications

• Holds a minimum TA2 qualification.
• Has previous experience working within a primary school setting.
• Has experience supporting children with SEN and Autism.
• Demonstrates strong behaviour management skills.
• Is patient, nurturing and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Works effectively as part of a team whilst using their own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with additional needs.
• Work as a general Teaching Assistant within the Year 4 classroom for part of the week.
• Support learning, engagement and participation across the curriculum.
• Implement strong behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques where required.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO and support colleagues.
• Undertake some lunchtime supervision duties.
