Job summary

Flourish Education in Smethwick is seeking an experienced Year 3 Teacher for a full-time, long-term position starting ASAP until December. You will lead a Year 3 class with responsibility for planning, teaching, marking and progression.

You will deliver engaging lessons, manage behaviour, assess pupil progress and work with a supportive school team to help pupils reach full potential. QTS or ECT welcome; KS2 experience desirable.

Are you an experienced Year 3 Teacher looking for a rewarding long-term opportunity?

A welcoming and supportive Primary School in Smethwick is seeking a dedicated Year 3 Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. This role will involve taking full responsibility for a Year 3 class, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher looking for a consistent and rewarding teaching position.

This long-term position will begin as soon as possible and continue until December, providing an excellent opportunity to join a supportive school and make a positive impact on the learning and development of pupils.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality teaching to a Year 3 class, with full responsibility for planning, marking and assessments. You will be expected to deliver engaging lessons, manage behaviour effectively, assess pupil progress and work collaboratively with the wider school team to ensure pupils achieve their full potential.

As a Year 3 Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging lessons to a Year 3 class.
• Taking full responsibility for the teaching and learning of the class.
• Planning and adapting lessons to meet the needs of all pupils.
• Marking pupils' work and providing appropriate feedback to support progress.
• Assessing and monitoring pupil progress and using assessment information to inform future planning.
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and supporting their academic, social and personal development.
• Differentiating learning activities to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities and additional needs.
• Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and other members of the school staff.
• Liaising effectively with colleagues and school leaders to ensure consistency and continuity for pupils.
• Following school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour management.
• Attending relevant staff meetings, parent meetings and other school commitments where required.

To be successful in this Year 3 Teacher role, you will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an ECT working towards completion of your induction.
• Previous experience teaching within Key Stage 2 is desirable.
• Experience teaching Year 3 is desirable.
• A good understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons.
• Experience with marking, assessment and tracking pupil progress.
• Confidence differentiating learning to meet a range of pupil needs.
• The ability to quickly establish positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A positive, enthusiastic and proactive approach to teaching and learning.
• A DBS on the update service, or issued within the last 12 months.
• A minimum of two excellent references.
