Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is assisting a friendly primary school in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, to recruit a Year 3 Learning Support Assistant for an immediate start.

You will work full-time in a Year 3 class, supporting lessons, providing one-to-one and small-group help, and helping pupils develop reading, writing and maths skills while promoting inclusion and positive attitudes to learning.

Qualifications

• Experience as Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
• Experience supporting children in Key Stage 2.
• Patient, positive and adaptable with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Classroom support: assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and activities.
• One-to-one and small-group support to pupils needing extra guidance.
• Support pupils with SEND and follow guidance from the teacher and support plans.
• Promote independence and help pupils take responsibility for their learning.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
• Support positive behaviour and encourage active participation in lessons.
• Support social and emotional development and build positive relationships with pupils.
• Create and maintain an inclusive, safe and stimulating learning environment.
