Marchant Recruitment is seeking a Year 2 Teacher for a primary school in Windsor, Berkshire. The role focuses on delivering structured KS1 lessons, supporting SATs preparation and moderation, and fostering a nurturing classroom environment.

Role Overview

An inspiring primary school in Windsor is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and nurturing Year 2 Teacher to join their Key Stage 1 team ASAP. In this key role, you will take charge of a bright Year 2 class, creating a structured, creative, and inclusive learning environment. You will focus on accelerating pupil progress across core subjects, building independent learning habits, and guiding pupils through Key Stage 1 statutory assessments (SATs) and moderation. Both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess rich, differentiated lessons aligned with Key Stage 1 curriculum standards.

• Prepare and support pupils through Year 2 assessments and teacher moderation, tracking individual attainment in reading, writing, and mathematics.

• Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment that fosters confidence, emotional resilience, and mutual respect.

• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, the SENCO, and pastoral staff to provide targeted interventions for pupils with SEND or EAL needs.

• Maintain open, positive communication with parents and carers to share pupil progress and support learning at home.

Key Requirements

• Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).

• Proven teaching experience or strong placement history in Key Stage 1, with a solid grasp of the Year 2 national curriculum.

• Proficiency in delivering structured systematic synthetic phonics programs (e.g., Read Write Inc., Little Wandle, or Sounds-Write).

• Strong classroom management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Legal right to work in the UK.
