A prominent recruitment agency seeks a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a mixed Year 2/3 class, contributing to student learning during a critical transition phase. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a mixed Year 2/3 class. This is a great opportunity to contribute to children’s learning and development during a key transitional phase from Key Stage 1 to lower Key Stage 2. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:
Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons across the curriculum.
Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning in literacy, numeracy and topic-based work.
Assist in managing classroom routines and promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Support children with additional needs by delivering targeted interventions or differentiated tasks.
Help with preparing resources, classroom displays and maintaining a well-organised environment.
Ideal Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:
Have experience working across Key Stage 1 and/or lower Key Stage 2, ideally in a mixed-age setting.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of the national curriculum and age-appropriate learning strategies.
Be confident delivering phonics, early literacy and maths support as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant.
Show initiative, flexibility and a caring approach to supporting children.
Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or have equivalent experience.
