Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and supportive Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant to work alongside teaching staff in providing high-quality support to pupils in a mixed-age Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2 class. This is an ideal role for someone who is passionate about helping children thrive both academically and socially. Starting September 2025.

Duties as Year 2/3 Teacher:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and encourage progress

• Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and displays

• Promote positive behaviour and help create a safe, nurturing learning environment

• Support pupils' emotional and social development, encouraging independence

• Provide feedback on pupil progress and maintain accurate support records

Ideal Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:

• Have experience working with children in a primary school setting, ideally in Years 2 and/or 3

• Be adaptable, patient, and committed to supporting children of varying needs and abilities

• Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant.

• Be confident in following teacher direction while also using initiative when needed

• Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or be working towards one)
